Moon Reservoir is located southeast of Burns/Hines. It is accessible from Hwy 20 at Riley (about 18 miles west of Hines) by turning south on Spud Farm Road and following it to the reservoir. This is an irrigation reservoir which can provide good fishing but has been drained during recent drought. When the reservoir water level is not low it is excellent to fish for trout and other warm water fish. Unimproved boat ramps are available for guest use. Visitors are advised to use caution, because the wind can be extremely harsh during spring. Fishing during winter months is advised against because the risk of getting hypothermia is greatly increased.
