| McKay Reservoir are features of the Umatilla Project. This 1,200-acre reservoir is located 8 miles south of Pendleton. Available species include rainbow trout, crappie, largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, sunfish, and yellow perch. Climbing up to the top of Owen Hill is great exercise. Take a little trip to South Coyote Creek. Other nearby water includes Ray Creek. Take a side trip to Wildhorse Creek. Don't forget to take a nice little excursion to Birch Creek. North Coyote Creek is one of the streams around here that might be worth visiting. Patawa Creek is very near and is always a pleasure to visit. Little McKay Creek flows through this area. McKay Creek National Wildlife Refuge is a beautiful place any time of year. Not all the water around here is flat, Nelson Creek is a stream visitors can visit during their stay. Some of the water around here flows, like Tutuilla Creek. Wegner Creek is a great local stream. Interesting geology is available here, Stewart Bench is right here. West Birch Creek is a great place to visit. Getting to South Patawa Creek from McKay Reservoir is a piece of cake. Pilot Rock is a great place to go up on if you want more of a bird's eye perspective on everything here around McKay Reservoir. Why not check out nearby East Birch Creek if you're here at McKay Reservoir. The Round Meadow Trail offers hiking at it's best. Don't leave McKay Reservoir without first paying a visit to O'Brien Spring. McKay Creek is a stream that guests may bump into while here. |
