| The Lane County Historical Museum was created to collect, preserve, and interpret Lane County's rich heritage. LCOG provides staff to the museum and payroll expenses are reimbursed by Friends of the Lane County Historical Museum (Friends). A friend, a private, not-for-profit organization, manages the museum. As a destination point for emigrants who were crossing the Oregon Trail in the mid-1800s, Lane County has a history of national and local significance. Museum collections date from the 1840s to the present and show the area's history in commerce, architecture, entertainment, and more. |
