Islet Day Use Area is located at the north end of Waldo Lake and offers wonderful sandy beaches. There is boating (10 M.P.H. speed limit), swimming, and fishing. The winds consistently blow each afternoon, offering a cool break from the summer sun. A picnic table located on the rock jetty is a great spot to enjoy a peaceful evening watching the sun set. The 1-mile Shoreline Trail between Islet and North Waldo Campgrounds provides a short and pleasant hike along the lakeshore. The mosquito population is high from June to mid-August and can by quiet bothersome, so be prepared. There are 4 day use sites in the day use area.
