Howard Prairie Reservoir

Howard Prairie Reservoir on Beaver Creek is a major feature of the Rogue River Project. At this 1,990-acre impoundment, anglers will find rainbow trout, brown bullhead, and largemouth bass. Fishing season runs from late April through October. The lake is surrounded by the pine and fir forests of the Cascade Mountains. Boating and water skiing are especially good at this lake. Ducks are raised at the reservoir every year and geese nest at the Lake. Campsites, restrooms, boat ramps (small fee may apply), and hiking trails are also available at Howard Prairie Reservoir.

Directions: To reach Howard Prairie Reservoir from Medford start out going northeast on W 6th St toward N Front St. for 0.1 miles. Turn right onto OR-99 S. Continue to follow OR-99 S. for 0.9 miles. Turn left onto E Barnett Rd. for 0.3 miles. Merge onto I-5 S toward Ashland for 13.2 miles. Take the OR-66 exit-14 toward Ashland for 0.2 miles. Turn left onto OR-66. Continue to follow Green Springs Hwy. for 20.5 miles. End at Lincoln.
