Haystack Campground is an open, dispersed site on the Haystack Reservoir. There is no drinking water on site. Fishing is accessible of trout and crappie on the nearby lake. Deer and small wildlife can also be seen in the area. Campers must bring their own firewood. There are a total of 40 sites.

Facilities: Haystack Campground provides tables, fire pits, flush toilets, level parking spur or tent site, and boat ramp.

Reservations: Haystack Campground does not accept reservations.

Best Time To Visit: Haystack Campground is open year round.

Fees: No fees are charged.

Accessibility: This campground is not handicap accessible.

Rules: The maximum stay is 14 days.

Directions: To reach Haystack Campground from Madras, start out going West on Southeast D Street toward Southeast 6th Street for 0.1 miles. Turn left onto US-97 South and continue to follow for 1.9 miles. Turn left onto US-26 East for 27.3 miles. Turn right onto Northeast Knowledge Street for 0.1 miles. Turn left onto Southeast 2nd Street for less than 0.1 miles. Turn right onto Southeast Knowledge Street for less than 0.1 miles. From Prineville, go 16 miles northwest on Highway #26 to Forest Road #96, Haystack Reservoir Junction. Turn left on Forest Road #96 and proceed 6 miles. Take the right fork and proceed 1 mile to junction into east shore campground. There is an unimproved camping area without facilities or services on the west shore.
