Directions: To reach Haystack Campground from Madras, start out going West on Southeast D Street toward Southeast 6th Street for 0.1 miles. Turn left onto US-97 South and continue to follow for 1.9 miles. Turn left onto US-26 East for 27.3 miles. Turn right onto Northeast Knowledge Street for 0.1 miles. Turn left onto Southeast 2nd Street for less than 0.1 miles. Turn right onto Southeast Knowledge Street for less than 0.1 miles. From Prineville, go 16 miles northwest on Highway #26 to Forest Road #96, Haystack Reservoir Junction. Turn left on Forest Road #96 and proceed 6 miles. Take the right fork and proceed 1 mile to junction into east shore campground. There is an unimproved camping area without facilities or services on the west shore. | |
