| H.B. Van Duzer Forest State Scenic Corridor lets visitors enjoy a drive through this scenic corridor surrounding Highway 18. Along the way, there's a place to pull off, visitors are able to stretch their legs and enjoy a spot of lunch amid a captivating ancient forest. If the time is right, get ready for some exciting wildlife viewing. Mule deer, elk, moose, and some predators can be seen moving about the forest. A weekday would be the most peaceful, and give guests a chance to discover the old growth Douglas-fir trees along the Salmon River. Stay alert for salmon, deer and Roosevelt elk as well. Exactly one mile east of the park entrance is a pull-out with a short trail leading to a swimming hole beneath more ancient trees. |
