Directions: To reach French Gulch Campground from Medford, start out going southwest on West 6th Street toward North Fir Street for 0.3 miles. Turn slight right onto Jacksonville Highway for 0.4 miles. Stay straight to go onto Jacksonville Highway for 4.2 miles. Travel South from Jacksonville 6.5 miles on Highway 238 to Ruch and turn left on to Upper Applegate Road (County Road 859). Continue about 15 miles to Applegate Lake and turn left on County Road 959 (traveling across the dam). Continue along Road 959 about one mile to the trailhead.
