Fogarty Creek State Recreation Area offers this park's perfect wind-sheltered picnic areas for visitor's use. In case of rain, head for the covered picnic shelter. Walk the wooden footbridges arching through the Sitka spruce, western hemlock, shore pine and alder forest. At the cliff-rimmed beach, a lazy creek flows into the sea, cutting through an enchanting scenic ocean cove. This park has some of the best bird watching and tide pooling on the coast. The picnic areas that are available to guests are a great way to experience one of Oregon's relaxing and entertaining state parks. Fishing is also permitted in the creek. The popular catch is rainbow trout, but if visitors are willing to travel to the ocean located just a mile down the creek they might be able to catch some bigger salt water fish.
