 Bird Watching
Face Rock State Scenic Viewpoint

Face Rock State Scenic Viewpoint is the focus of an American Indian legend. Some say they hear a maiden's voice on the wind, and standing on the cliff overlooking the ocean you can easily pick out the face on Face Rock. There is a well-kept trail to the beach, and several rocky inter-tidal areas to explore at low tide. Wildlife viewing is excellent during the migratory months of the whales. Grey whales are spotted here most often. Seals and Orca whales can be seen in the area as well. Bird watching has become popular in the Face Rock area. A rocky shore builds into a large canyon-like wall that is decent for rock climbing. Other recreational activities in the Face Rock State Scenic Viewpoint area include fishing, swimming, and hiking.
