Emigrant Reservoir is formed by Emigrant Dam which is a feature of the Rogue River Project. Recreation on this 806-acre reservoir is located on Emigrant Creek 5 miles southeast of Ashland, Oregon. Vehicle access is good along the west arm and limited on east arm. Angling opportunities are best for crappie, largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, and brown bullhead. Emigrant Reservoir is stocked with legal-sized rainbow trout; bass and panfish also are available. Fishing for panfish has been good, but anglers are reminded that crappie less than eight inches must be released unharmed. Emigrant Reservoir is occasionally stocked with steelhead, and chinook salmon. The fishing season is open to visitors year-round. The reservoir is closed at sunset except for the developed campground area.
