Edison/Lava is not a good trail for beginners as there are technically challenging sections and long climbs that get rewarded with long fast downhills that are rewarding. The first part of the trail follows a nordic ski trail system so you have to follow the signposts and the trails with defined trails on them. A full suspension bike is a benefit on this trail. Bring a spare tube and bike pump because this trail is rocky and has been known to rupture a few tires. This trail is 20 miles long with elevations of 4760 to 6000 feet and is considered to be most difficult.
