Visitors are able to walk a short distance and surf the gentle waves of Del Rey Beach State Recreation Site. If ever there was a place to play, fly a kite, build a sandcastle or picnic, this is it. Some of the water activities that visitors like to participate in are boating, sailing, snorkeling, surfing, swimming, water skiing, and wind surfing. Deep sea scuba diving is also available during specific months of the year. Every summer life guard courses are taught to anyone who may be interested in being a life guard for the beach.
