Cow Creek Trail #1424 follows Cow Creek through a heavy stand of timber for approximately 4 miles. Giant old growth timber, lush glades of moss and ferns, and brilliant fall colors are features of this trail. Be prepared to ford the creek crossings or look for down logs to use as bridges. The final miles of the trail climb the ridge to Railroad Gap, where a shelter stands beside Road #3232-911. This trail is 6.2 miles long, has a more difficult rating, and receives light use.

Best Time To Visit: Cow Creek Trail #1424 is open spring through fall.

Directions: To reach Cow Creek Trail #1424 from Roseburg, travel south on Interstate 5. From Interstate 5, take the Azalea exit #88 and head east on County Road 36 for 18 miles to the junction of Forest Road #3232. The trailhead is about 1 mile up Forest Road #3232.
