Cougar Reservoir is maintained at a high level for scenic and recreational enjoyment from May through August. It is six miles long, 1,280 acres when full, the dam is 1,600 feet long and 452 feet high. Be watchful for obstructions near the shoreline such as submerged stumps, logs, and rocks. Small craft are advised to stay out of open waters when winds become threatening as dangerous waves can build up suddenly. There are 3 campgrounds and a day use area located on the reservoir.

Facilities: Cougar Reservoir provides lodging, gas, and groceries in Blue River and McKenzie Bridge. 3 campgrounds are located nearby.

Best Time To Visit: Cougar Reservoir is open May through August.

Fees: A day use fee is charged.

Accessibility: This area is not handicap accessible.

Rules: Unknown

Directions: To reach Cougar Reservoir from Eugene, travel east on State Highway 126 to Aufderheide Drive (Forest Road 19). It is three miles from the junction of Forest Road 19 and State Highway 126 to Cougar Dam. Drive over the dam to access campgrounds and boat launches.
