Contorta Point Campground is where the historic Elliott Wagon Road passed. The campground was named in 1925 by F. W. Cleator of the Forest Service after the lodge pole pine species which grows on the site (Pinus contorta). The campground is located in park-like stand of pine with lake and mountain views. There are good opportunities for fishing on adjacent Crescent Lake. Supplies are available 10 miles away at Crescent Lake Junction. Wildlife includes bald eagles. The campground is busy during the weekends and holidays. Guests may gather firewood locally. Multi-use trails offer recreation on the area. There is no drinking water. The campground provides 15 campsites and has a maximum spur length of 60 feet. All of the campsites are primitive.
