Bob Straub State Park is located in Pacific City and provides beach access, parking, and restrooms. It's a nice place to go for a walk on the beach and explore the Nestucca sand spit. The Nestucca River is legendary for 50 pound chinook salmon. The state park also houses the Sand dune Recreation Area. This area is popular for off road vehicles such as ATV's and four wheel drive vehicles such as jeeps. There are hiking trails within the state park that equal 20 miles all together. The difficulty level is moderate on most trails. If a guest does not wish to camp at the state park there are other options available. Cabins are available to rent, and they are located on the shores of the beach. Hotels are nearby the area as well.
