Lake Mead National Recreation Area
Three of America's four desert ecosystems, the Mojave, the Great Basin, and the Sonoran Deserts, meet in Lake Mead National Recreation Area. The huge lakes cater to boaters, swimmers, sunbathers, and fishermen while the desert rewards hikers, wildlife photographers, and roadside sightseers.

Long Trails (9+ miles)

North Loop Trail
This very strenuous trail gains 4,318 feet in elevation. It receives heavy use and takes about 8 hours to complete one way.

Bristlecone Trail
This moderately difficult 6 mile trail gains 720 feet in elevation. It receives moderate to heavy use and takes about 4 1/2 hours to complete.

This very strenuous 8 1/3 mile trail gains 4,318 feet in elevation. It receives heavy use and takes about 6 hours to complete one way.

Short Trails (1-3 miles)

Cathedral Rock Trail
This strenuous 1.4 mile trail (one way) gains 1000 feet in elevation and receives moderate to heavy use. It takes about 2 hours to complete this trail round trip.

Fletcher Canyon Trail
This moderately difficult 1.8 mile trail (one way) gains 430 feet in elevation. It receives light use and takes about and takes about 30 minutes to complete one way.

Mary Jane Falls Trail
This strenuous 1 1/2 mile trail (one way) gains 1,040 feet in elevation. It receives heavy use and takes about 1 hour to complete one way.

Robber's Roost Trail
This moderately difficult 850 yard loop trail 190 feet in elevation. It receives heavy use and takes about 20 minutes to complete.

Trail Canyon Trail
This strenuous 2 mile trail (one way) gains 1,500 feet in elevation. It receives moderate use and takes about 4 hours to complete round trip.
