| Facilities: A concessionaire operates a cafe and gift shop from April to October. There is a restaurant and small grocery store, as well as credit card (unmanned) gas pumps in Baker. A gas station and restaurant are also located at the Nevada-Utah border. Reservations: Reservations are not needed or accepted for Great Basin National Park. Best Time To Visit: Great Basin National Park is open year round. Summer is the most popular time to visit. The park receives few visitors is January and February. Fees: There is no park entrance fee. A fee is charged for campgrounds and the RV sanitary station. Lehman Caves Tour fees vary with tour length. Accessibility: All five campgrounds have a designated wheelchair accessible site. The visitor center is wheelchair accessible as is the First Room Tour of Lehman Caves. Rules: Make sure you are prepared before starting any hike. Bring clothing for all types of weather, as weather may change rapidly, especially at high elevations. Be advised that pets are not allowed on park trails. Directions: To reach Great Basin National Park from Ely, follow Hwy 50 south for 26.5 miles to Major's Place. From Major's Place travel south on Hwy 50 for 29.7 miles to Hwy 487. Follow 487 for 5.2 miles to Baker. The main park entrance is five miles west of Baker. |
