South Ruby Campground is situated in a pine and juniper forest across from a wildlife refuge. There are 35 individual campsites provided here. Deer and squirrels are common to the area. There are fishing opportunities available for trout. There is a fish cleaning area and RV dump station across the road. South Ruby Campground has a campground host.

Reservations: Reservations are not accepted for South Ruby Campground.

Best Time To Visit: South Ruby Campground is open May through October.

Rules: Maximum length of stay is 14 days.

Directions: To reach South Ruby Campground from Elko, go south on Hwy 228 for 35 miles to county route 718. Go southeast on 718 for 13 miles to county route 788. Go south on 788 for 9 miles to the campground.
