Fletcher Canyon Trail is 1.8 miles one way. It begins by wandering through open stands of pinion pine, ponderosa pines, manzanita and mountain mahogany. The trail makes an easy 1/2 mile ascent up to a peaceful spring where wild rose, columbine, shooting stars and ferns thrive in the lush, cool environment.
The trail then drops into the streambed and may require some rock scrambling to continue. Use caution when climbing over the rocks, many are worn smooth by the water and are dangerously slick even when dry.
Choosing to hike on up the rocky streambed, will be rewarded with the dramatic views of narrow limestone canyon whose walls tower nearly 200 feet above.
Fletcher Canyon Trail Continues another 1/2 mile through narrowing canyon ending at a rock fall that blocks the way and creates a seasonal waterfall.
