Boulder Basin Area

Boulder Basin Area is a section of Lake Mead Recreation Area. It includes the areas of Las Vegas Bay, Boulder Beach, and Callville Bay. Boulder Basin Area offers three campgrounds, several picnic areas, scenic harbors and beaches. Like all of the Lake Mead National Recreation Areas, there are virtually unlimited opportunities for water recreation.

Facilities: Boulder Basin Area provides Lake Mead, Las Vegas Bay, and Callville Bay marinas, which have boat rentals, fuel, general store merchandise, restaurants or snack bars, dry storage, and slip rentals.
Boat rentals range from personal watercraft to 16-foot fishing boats, 18-foot runabouts for water-skiing and exploring, 24-foot patio boats, and houseboats that sleep up to 14 people.

Reservations: Advance reservations for the Boulder Basin Area are advised. Because of the growing popularity of houseboats, reservations for these should be made at least 6 months in advance.

Best Time To Visit: Boulder Basin Area is open year round.

Fees: The Boulder Basin Area of Lake Mead National Recreation Area has entrance and lake use fees. Daily and annual passes can be purchased at the entrance stations.

Directions: The Boulder Basin Area of Lake Mead National Recreation Area is approximately 25 miles from McCarran International Airport in Las Vegas. There are nine paved accesses into Lake Mead NRA.
