Welcome to Southeast New Mexico! Southeastern New Mexico is home to the largest petroglyph site in the southwest: Three Rivers Petroglyph National Recreation Site with more than 21,000 ancient symbols scribed on the rocks Carlsbad Caverns National Park invites visitors to explore some of the largest caves in the world - there are 100 known, 870-foot underground caves where the collection of stalagmites, stalactites, and Mexican freetail bats will leave visitors speechless.

Must visit attractions in southeast New Mexico include the Lincoln National Forest, the birthplace of the world-famous Smokey Bear. The 1,103,441-acre Forest offers the user a variety of recreational opportunities any season of the year. And, of course, Roswell, New Mexico, internationally known for the "Roswell Incident" and still well known as a destination for tourists interested in UFO's and rumored government cover-ups of alien visits.
