Santa Rosa has 15 natural lakes and streams. The Pecos River, which originates in northern New Mexico, flows through the community before heading toward the Gulf of Mexico. The Blue Hole, which is one of the most amazing geological phenomenons in the region, makes for an afternoon scuba diving for the beginner or the expert.
The tourist attractions of Santa Rosa include the old Saint Rose Church, Old Route 66, and Puerto De Luna, one of the oldest communities in the region. The man-made Santa Rosa Dam and Lake also offer fishing, boating, swimming, picnicking, and camping.
