Coyote Creek - Mammals
This creek is stocked with rainbow trout and some native trout and according to the State Department of Game and Fish, the creek is the highest stock water in the state of New Mexico, per square foot of water.

The Coyote Creek State Park provides 47 developed campsites, 17 full hook-up campsites, and another 20 primitive tent sites.

The park is nestled in the Sangre de Cristo Mountains along a meandering stream. The park is ideal for fishing, family camping and leisurely nature walks.

Las Vegas National Wildlife Refuge - Bird Watching, Mammals
This 8,672 acre refuge is comprised of native grasslands, croplands, marshes, ponds, timbered canyons and streams which provide important habitat for over 270 species of birds.

Lookout Trail - Mammals
This trail is located in the Coyote Creek State Park and rated as "easy". The trailhead is at the Old Cattle Watering Trough, and travels south along the west side of the state park.

Storrie Lake - Bird Watching, Mammals
The lake is periodically stocked with rainbow trout, and anglers also catch German brown trout, crappie and catfish.

Storrie Lake Campground - Bird Watching, Mammals
This campground has a total of 45 developed sites and 21 sites that are full hook-up. Many of these sites are close to the lake. There are also 100 primitive tent sites.

Storrie Lake State Park - Bird Watching, Mammals
This state park has 36 developed tent and RV sites within several feet of the lake. Boating, swimming, and water sports are allowed on the lake.
