Coronado State Monument
Today guests can visit this historical site and learn about the history of the Kuaua pueblo people. An interpretive trail (1/5 of a mile) winds through the site leading to a reconstructed kiva (ceremonial chamber) that was excavated at the site in the 1930s.

Fenton Lake State Park
This park is surrounded by ponderosa pine forests. Canoeing on Fenton Lake is permitted. The two mile trail is popular for hiking and cross-country skiing.

Manzano Mountains State Park
This state park contains five miles of trails that encircles the Manzano Mountains campground. The campground offers 37 developed sites and seven that are full hook-up.

Rio Grande Nature Center State Park
The nature center offers naturalist-led hikes, bosque exploration, exhibits, hands-on activities, teacher workshops, seasonal classes and special events for visitors of all ages.
