Amole Canyon Loop Trail - Short Trails (1-3 miles)
This 3.1 mile trail is rated easy for hikers, mountain bikers, and cross country skiers alike. The trail was designed with all skill levels in mind and there are detours around the steeper slopes to accommodate the novice.

Carson National Forest - Hiking In National Forests
Some of the finest mountain scenery in the Southwest is found in the 1.5 million acres covered by the forest. Elevations rise from 6,000 feet to 13,161 feet and recreational opportunities abound.

El Vado Lake State Park - Hiking In State Parks
Located in New Mexico's northern mountains, El Vado Lake this park offers fishing, boating, water skiing, and winter cross-country skiing. A 5.5-mile scenic trail along the Rio Chama connects El Vado with nearby Heron Lake.

Gallegos Canyon, Trail 4 - Short Trails (1-3 miles)
There are beautiful views of the Wheeler Peak country along this 3-mile trail. This trail is rated "Novice to Intermediate".

Heron Lake State Park - Hiking In State Parks
A lake set among tall pines, Heron Lake State Park has been designated a "quiet lake" where boats operate at no-wake speeds only. This park is known for its excellent sailing, fishing, cross-country skiing, and hiking. The lake is also known for record-size trout and ice fishing is popular in winter.

Kit Carson Park - Hiking In City Parks
Plenty of sports and recreational opportunities are available at the park including tennis, basketball and a baseball diamond that is often used by local Little League. Take a jog or hike on the .75 mile closed loop within the facility, or try the sand volleyball courts.

Lake Fork Trail #82 - Medium Trails (4-8 miles)
This is a moderately difficult 5.2-mile trail. Elevation ranges from 9,200 to 11,520 feet. This path skirts the western shoreline of Cabresto Lake before following Lake Fork Creek.

Lookout Trail - Short Trails (1-3 miles)
This trail is located in the Coyote Creek State Park and rated as "easy". The trailhead is at the Old Cattle Watering Trough, and travels south along the west side of the state park.

Lost Lake Trail #91 - Medium Trails (4-8 miles)
This 4-mile trail is designed for the intermediate to expert hiker. Elevations range from 10,300 to 11,495 feet in elevation.

Rio Chama Trail - Medium Trails (4-8 miles)
This 5.5 miles trail is rated easy.

Wheeler Peak Trail #90 - Medium Trails (4-8 miles)
Wheeler Peak Trail is for the intermediate to expert hiker. This 8-mile trail starts at 9,200 feet and ends at 13,161 in elevation.

Williams Lake Trail #62 - Medium Trails (4-8 miles)
This path follows the main return trail used by downhill skiers and, therefore, is not open for travel to Williams Lake when the ski area is open. The 6 mile trail is designed for the novice to intermediate hiker. Elevation ranges from 10,300 to 11,100 feet.
