Cimarron Canyon State Park - Hiking In State Parks
This park offers a 100 site campground. Fishing, hiking, cross country skiing and rock climbing are just a few of the activities you can do here.

Clayton Lake State Park - Hiking In State Parks
Set among rolling grasslands, the park offers trout, catfish, and bass fishing. Walk a half-mile to the lake's spillway and see the internationally significant dinosaur track way, containing more than 500 footprints dating back more than 100 million years.

Clear Creek Trail - Medium Trails (4-8 miles)
This seven mile loop trail is rated as "Easy to Moderate". The elevation gain from the trailhead to the turnaround point is 1000 feet. Plan on spending around 3 hours to complete this hike.

Coal Camp Trail - Short Trails (1-3 miles)
This 1.5 mile trail is rated "Moderate - Strenuous".

Deer Run Trail - Short Trails (1-3 miles)
This 1.8 mile trail is rated "moderate to strenuous". The elevation change is +700 feet.

Elliott Barber Trail - Short Trails (1-3 miles)
This 2.6 mile trail will lead you into the wilderness of the Carson National Forest. It is rated as "Novice to Intermediate". The starting elevation is 8,500 feet, and the ending evaluation is 10,200 feet.

Lake Maloya Trail - Short Trails (1-3 miles)
This 2.8 mile trail is rated "easy-moderate". There is no elevation change. It follows a dirt road along the lake, narrowing as it enters Segerstrom Canyon.

Opportunity Trail Loop - Medium Trails (4-8 miles)
Full of changing scenery, this 4 mile trail is rated moderate to strenuous. The elevation change is 1,200 feet.

Ponderosa Ridge Trail - Short Trails (1-3 miles)
This path begins across from the Horse Corral on the Soda Pocket Road heading east around the base of Little Horse Mesa. This 2 mile trail is rated moderate to strenuous. The elevation change is 500 feet.

River Walk Trail - Short Trails (1-3 miles)
This 0.5 mile trail makes a loop around the Chicorica Creek, and is rated easy.

Sugarite Canyon State Park - Hiking In State Parks
This state park offers fishing on three lakes, picnicking, hiking, and overnight camping at the Soda Pocket and Lake Alice campgrounds.

Vista Grande Nature Trail - Short Trails (1-3 miles)
A branch off the main trail loop heads upslope to a viewing point with panoramic views of the canyon. This half-mile trail is rated at "moderate". The elevation change is +150 feet.
