Art Georgia O'Keefe Museum O'Keefe's images-often instantly recognizable as hers-include large-scale flowers, New York cityscapes, animal bones, and the high deserts and dramatic cliffs of her beloved New Mexico. Museum of International Folk Art The Museum opened to the public in 1953 and has gained national and international recognition as the home to the world's largest collection of folk art. The collection of more than 130,000 artifacts forms the basis for exhibitions in four distinct wings. Return to Top of Page Local Bataan Memorial Military Museum and Library The central focus of the Museum is the men of the 200th Coast Artillery Regiment which was sent to the Philippine Islands early in WWII to furnish anti-aircraft support to Clark Air Field and Fort Stotsenberg. El Rancho de las Golondrinas The museum is dedicated to the heritage and culture of Spanish Colonial New Mexico. Original colonial buildings on the site date from the early 18th Century. In addition, historic buildings from other parts of northern New Mexico have been reconstructed at Las Golondrinas. . Palace of Governors This adobe structure, now the state's history museum, was designated a Registered National Historic Landmark in 1960 and an American Treasure in 1999. Poeh Museum This museum is a unique hub of Pueblo culture that serves Native and non-Native peoples alike. As a center point of Pueblo culture and history, this museum strives to promote cultural preservation through curation, exhibition, and interaction. The Santa Fe Children's Museum A sampling of the activities at the museum include looms, harmonographs, face painting, greenhouse, sound discs, magnets, animals, giant bubbles, and a climbing wall. Return to Top of Page Natural History Institute of American Indian Arts At the Institute of American Indian Arts you will see what makes IAIA special, from traditional practices to contemporary arts, from paintings, photography, jewelry, sculpture, and fiber arts to installations. Museum of New Mexico-Museum of Fine Arts This masterpiece of Pueblo Revival architecture was built in 1917 and as the state's oldest art museum is home to more than 20,000 works of art. The Museum of Spanish Colonial Art This museums' collections were initiated in 1928. Today with 3,000 objects, the collections are the most comprehensive compilation of Spanish Colonial art of their kind. Wheelwright Museum of the American Indian The Wheelwright Museum of the American Indian hosts changing exhibitions of contemporary and historic Native American art with an emphasis on the Southwest.
