The Rockhound Trail at the park provide visitors with climbs of varying degrees of difficulty and breathtaking views. A 1.2-mile loop trail provides access to rock collecting areas, plus adjacent state and federal lands that are also open to the public. Reaching the top, visitors survey the 7,000 foot peaks of the Florida Mountains.

Facilities: The Rockhound State Park offer 32 RV/trailer sites, and an additional 22 for full hook-up. There are 10 individual areas for primitive tents. Restrooms and picnic areas are also provided.

Reservations: Certain campsites within the Rockhound State Park do require reservations.

Fees: A day usage fee and an overnight camping fee do apply.

Accessibility: Unknown

Rules: Know all park rules and regulations, which are posted in the park.

Drive only on designated roadways and obey posted speed limits.
Camp only in the designated areas.
Keep pets on leashes.
Do not feed the wildlife.
Be aware that vandalizing, defacing, or removing antiquities, minerals, plants or wildlife is absolutely prohibited.
Bring and drink ample water, at least one gallon per day per person, and allow for the extreme heat of the desert in the summer.

Directions: To reach the Rockhound Trail from Las Cruces, take I-25 south to I-10 west to Deming. Then take NM 11 south five miles, and head east on NM 141 for about nine miles.
