| New Canyon Campground is located in a steep-sided canyon with ponderosa pine, fir, and oak at an elevation of 7,800 feet. A small, seasonal tributary runs near the campground. A small lake in the nearby Manzano Wilderness Area offers trout fishing. Wildlife includes black bear, mountain lion, coyote, deer, bighorn sheep, and bobcat. Hiking/horseback trails are also available the in adjacent Manzano Wilderness Area. There are 10 campsites open all year, with a maximum spur length of 22 feet. |
