The Apache Plume Campground is a section of the Cochiti recreation area that is normally closed. It is used for overflow camping. There is a shelter with eight tables and is used by large picnic groups on a reservation system. This area is administered by the Corps of Engineers. The Apache Plume Campground has about nine acres and 22 campsites. Each site has a shelter, concrete table, grill and a fire-ring. The access road to this loop is paved and there are 3 road-side water spigots. There are no restroom facilities in this campground; campers use the facilities in the adjacent campgrounds. None of the campsites have water or sewer hook-ups.
