Bad Medicine Campground is located in the vicinity of the Ross Creek Cedars Scenic Area, a rain forest type atmosphere consisting of giant cedars, streams, and lush vegetation. The campground is located in a natural wooded area offering beauty and serenity.
There are 17 campsites 6 of which have fire rings and all can accommodate RVs and trailers, however there is a 32 feet maximum length limit. There are no reservations required but there is a per night fee and a maximum stay limit of 14 days.
There is a beautiful day use picnic area that does not charge a fee and does not require reservations. It is located within the campground.
Located on 7-mile-long Bull Lake, this site is situated among various types of flora and dense conifers. It offers a boat ramp, fishing access, and nice views of the immediate vicinity. Fish species include eastern brook and rainbow trout, kokanee salmon, and large mouth bass.
The Ross Creek giant cedar grove is located 3 miles from the campground entrance. For those visiting the cedars but not staying at the campground, a designated parking area is available just off Highway 56 for trailers and large recreational vehicles. Space restrictions at the cedar grove do not allow for large and pull-type vehicles.
There are vault toilets and fresh drinking water available.
While enjoying the great outdoors remember to keep the wilderness wild by cleaning up after yourself. It is very important that we keep our National Forests clean because they are some of the last places in the world where nature has a home. National Forests are a place where animals live, trees grow, and people enjoy themselves. Remember to that anything you bring into the Forest needs to be taken back out. Pack it in, pack it out!
