East Rosebud Lake is a large gorgeous lake with an elevation of 6200 feet the crisp mountain air combined with the air from the lake will sooth your soul.
East Rosebud Lake offers wonderful fishing opportunities. There is an abundance of Brook Trout, Brown Trout, Longnose Sucker, Mountain Whitefish, Rainbow Trout, Whitefish, and Yellowstone Cutthroat Trout. There is ice fishing in the winter and lake fishing in the summer. A license and permit are required to fish.
Boats are allowed as long as they are non-motorized. Make sure to have the proper license needed to operate a boat.
The nearby campground has vault toilets and fresh drinking water.
While enjoying the great outdoors remember to keep the wilderness wild by cleaning up after yourself. It is very important that we keep our National Forests clean because they are some of the last places in the world where nature has a home. National Forests are a place where animals live, trees grow, and people enjoy themselves. Remember to that anything you bring into the Forest needs to be taken back out. Pack it in, pack it out!

Facilities: East Rosebud Lake has vault toilets and fresh drinking water available at the nearby campground. There is no garbage so please pack out whatever you pack in.

Best Time To Visit: The best time to visit East Rosebud Lake is between the early spring and the late summer.

Fees: The lake itself does not charge any fees but some of the campgrounds and recreational activities in the area might.

Accessibility: East Rosebud Lake has a nearby handicapped accessible campground.

Rules: While at East Rosebud Lake all pets must be on a leash and remember to clean up after yourself, also don't forget to have all the proper licenses needed to fish or operate a boat.

Directions: To get to East Rosebud Lake from Billings, take the I-90 west via the ramp to Butte. Take exit 408 for State Route 78 toward Columbus. Turn left at MT-78 south/Sheep Dip Road. Continue to follow MT-78 south. Turn right at East Pike AvenueTake the 1st left onto MT-78 south/Pratten Street. Continue to follow MT-78 south. Turn right at East Rosebud Road. Turn right to stay on East Rosebud Road. Slight left toward East Rosebud Lake Road. Take the 1st right onto East Rosebud Lake Road.
