| Boise National Forest - Water Activities In National Forests | | Boise National Forest consists of about 2,612,000 acres of National Forest System Lands. It offers a wide variety of recreational activities for visitors to enjoy. Visitors can hike, ride horseback, or motorbike on over 850 miles of trails. Over 7,600 miles of streams and more than 250 lakes are reservoirs offer excellent water sports activities including rafting, kayaking, sailing, and water skiing. There are over 70 campgrounds and picnic areas within the forest. |

| Payette River - Rafting | | This portion of the river offers easy access to rapids of moderate difficulty and is a fine run for boaters with basic skills. Beaches provide areas to swim in. Visitors can also float down the clean mountain river with forested banks and hawks or osprey flying overhead. Facilities are not available. |

| Payette River - North Fork - Swimming | | This river runs through a secluded forested canyon. It is an easy day trip for intermediate floaters. The river gets crowded on the weekends because the float is so popular. Facilities are provided. |

The Forest crosses into Hell's Canyon National Recreation Area located in Idaho.
