Clearwater National Forest - Hiking In National Forests
The Clearwater National Forest is nestled on the west side of the Bitterroot Mountains in north central Idaho. Recreational activities within the forest include hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, snowmobiling, cross-country skiing, hunting, and wildlife viewing.

Hells Gate State Park - Hiking In State Parks
The park is situated at the lowest elevation in the entire state of Idaho. There is a large beach and day-use area with a canopy of shade trees and miles of hiking, biking, and horseback trails.

Lewis and Clark National Historic Trail - Long Trails (9+ miles)
In 1803 President Thomas Jefferson commissioned Meriwether Lewis and William Clark to explore the newly acquired Louisiana Purchase. The voyage of was made up of 45 men, a keelboat, two pirogues, and a dog. At 3,700 miles in length, Lewis & Clark National Historic Trail is the second longest of the 23 National Scenic & National Historic Trails in the United States and it crosses 11 states.
