Camping In National Forests Nez Perce National Forest Nez Perce National Forest consists of 2.2 million acres of diverse land located in the heart of north central Idaho. Recreation in the Nez Perce National Forest includes, camping in over 50 primitive and developed campgrounds, hiking the many miles of trails within the forest, fishing and playing in the beautiful streams, rivers, lakes, and reservoirs. Wallowa-Whitman National Forest The Wallowa -Whitman National Forest contains 2.3 million acres located in the northeast corner of Oregon. The Forest crosses into Hell's Canyon National Recreation Area located in Idaho. Recreational opportunities within the Forest include fishing, camping, hiking, mountain biking, skiing, boating, and much more. A majority of the campsites are developed with electricity and water hookups. Aquarius Campground This campground is located in tall cedar, fir and pine trees alongside the North Fork Clearwater River. The area offers great fishing and several hiking trails. There are 7 single sites with a maximum spur length of 60 feet. CCC Camp Campground There are 3 single sites and picnic areas available on the campground. The campground is located in the cedar and fir on Selway River. Gedney Creek Campground There is 1 single site available at the campground, with a maximum spur of 40 feet. The campground is located in the cedar and fir trees on the Selway River. Glover Creek Campground There are 7 single sites available at the campground. The campground is located in the cedar and fir trees on Selway River. Jerry Johnson Campground This campground is located in cedar and Douglas fir with some underbrush and open areas on the Lochsa River. Fishing is allowed in the river. There are several trails in the area. Kelly Forks Campground This campground is located in tall willow and birch shrubs along Kelly Creek. Historical cabins and the Moose City mining area are nearby. There are also hiking and horse trails in the area. Meadow Creek Campground There are 2 single sites available at the campground. The campground is located in a forested canyon on the South Fork Clearwater River. Noe Creek Campground This campground has views of the mountains and the North Fork Clearwater River. There are several hiking, horse and ATV trails nearby. Pittsburg Landing Campground Pittsburg Landing Campground is located in a pine and fir forest on Snake River. There are a total of 35 sites with a maximum spur of 18 feet. Powell Campground This campground is located on the Lochsa River. Fly and spin fishing for trout are allowed in the river. There are trails in the area. Rackliff Campground There are 6 single sites available at the campground. The campground is located among the cedar and fir trees on Selway River. Slims Camp Campground There are 2 single sites available at the campground. The campground is located in the cedar and fir trees on Selway River. South Fork Campground There are 6 single sites available at the campground. The campground is located in a forested canyon on the South Fork Clearwater River.
