North Fork Boise River Trail is difficult to most difficult trail. A relatively easy walk will get you to a rock outcrop. From here, you can experience the depths of the canyon. More serious hikers can continue up the difficult trail - the view is worth the effort. It is an 8 mile trail that starts 4800 feet and climbs 1800 feet to it's ending elevation of 5600 feet.

Facilities: There are no facilities provided at North Fork Boise River Trail.

Reservations: Reservations are not needed or accepted for North Fork Boise River Trail.

Best Time To Visit: North Fork Boise River Trail is open July through October.

Fees: No fees are charged.

Accessibility: Unknown

Rules: What has been brought in must be brought out. Never leave fires unattended and extinguish all smoking materials properly.

Directions: To reach North Fork Boise River Trail from Boise, travel northeast on State Highway 21, 18 miles past Idaho City. Turn off State Highway 21 onto Forest Road 384 at Edna Creek. Follow Forest Road 384 for 13.5 miles to the North Fork of the Boise River and Forest Road 327. Turn upriver (left) on Forest Road 327 and go 5 miles and find Forest Road 348, which goes straight ahead toward Deer Park Cabin (if you cross the North Fork Boise River over a bridge, you have just missed Forest Road 348). Continue on Forest Road 348 for about .2 miles to the Deer Park Cabin area and turn left (uphill) for another 200 yards. Look for trail direction sign.
