Nez Perce National Forest consists of 2.2 million acres of diverse land located in the heart of north central Idaho. Created in 1908 by President Theodore Roosevelt, the forest has a rich cultural heritage and was the traditional home of the Ni Mii Pu (The People.), who were later named the Nez Perce Indians by the Lewis and Clark expeditions.
