Lolo Creek is the third major tributary within the main stem Clearwater River drainage on which the forest administers federal lands. A majority of the lands upstream of the USFS boundary are federal lands with private lands primarily located in the Musselshell Creek drainage. There are historic mining as well as past and ongoing timber harvest activities in the drainage. Access varies from relatively easy access from existing roads to hikes of over five miles.

Anglers can fish for a variety of for naturally-reproducing fish, including westslope cutthroat trout, rainbow trout, steelhead trout, chinook salmon, and brook trout. The Nezperce Tribe and Idaho Department of Fish and Game have been busy over the past 15 years supplementing the small spring Chinook Salmon and Steelhead Trout populations within Lolo Creek.

Facilities: In addition to Lolo Campground, Lolo Creek has several primitive campgrounds.

Directions: To reach Lolo from Lewsiton, Creek, take Main Street approximately 2 miles, continuing to follow US-12 to US-95. Take US-95 to approximately 69 miles to Hangman Creek. Take Hangman Creek to Lolo Creek.
