Lafferty Campground is situated in a fir, pine, spruce, and larch forest. The Crooked River is located nearby. There are some hiking, horse, and ATV trails located nearby. Wildlife in the area includes black bears, mountain lions, wolves, coyotes, deer, elk, bighorn sheep, bald eagles, and peregrine falcons.
