Hardscrabble Campground is situated in a shady forest with thick undergrowth looking over the Middle Fork Payette River. Fish in the river for rainbow trout and whitefish or watch fir some of the larger wildlife in the area which includes deer, elk, and bears. There are also numerous hiking and ATV trails located near the campground. Six sites are available.

Facilities: There are no facilities provided at Hardscrabble Campground.

Reservations: Reservations are not needed or accepted for Hardscrabble Campground.

Best Time To Visit: Hardscrabble Campground is open May through September.

Fees: An overnight fee is charged.

Accessibility: This campground is not handicap accessible.

Rules: The maximum length of stay is 14 days.

Directions: To reach Hardscrabble Campground from Boise, travel north on State Highway 55 to the Banks-Lowman Road. Travel east on the Banks-Lowman Road to Forest Road 698. Travel north on Forest Road 698 about 12 miles to reach the campground.
