Granite Peak Trail #137 reaches a cumulative elevation of 1,215 feet. The route length stretches for 6 miles (one way). The level of difficulty is moderate, and the trail gets light usage. There are no restrictions on the trail.
A part of the area's mining history can be explored along the trail at the remnants of an old miner's cabin. Once the trail reaches the ridge, visitors enter an open alpine meadow with some of the most beautiful scenery on the district. Hiking across this meadow in the summertime provides a very colorful experience when the wildflowers are in bloom. Visitors can see lupine, heartleaf arnica and Indian paint-brushes. A panoramic view is visible as well.
