Castle Rocks is Idaho's newest state park that features granite spires known collectively as Castle Rocks. Congress authorized the National Park Service to purchase Castle Rock Ranch in November 2000. The Park Service exchanged the ranch for land owned by the Idaho Department of Parks and Recreation inside Hagerman Fossil Beds National Monument. The exchange was completed in 2004. Some of the geologic features are outside the park, but within the Castle Rocks Interagency Recreation Area. The department has partnered with the Bureau of Land Management and the Forest Service to manage recreation throughout the Castle Rocks geologic area.

There is bird watching in the area.

Facilities: Castle Rocks has a primitive campground that offers no facilities.

Best Time To Visit: Castle Rocks enforces quiet time between 10:00pm and 7:00am.

Fees: A daily fee and parking fee is charged.

Accessibility: There is no handicap access available.

Rules: Camp only at the designated campground.

Directions: To reach Castle Rocks from Burley, start out going north on Albion Avenue toward east 13th Street. Turn right onto east Main Street and continue for 1.1 miles. Turn right onto ID-81 for 7.7 miles. Turn right onto ID-77. Continue to follow ID-77 for 19.7 miles. Turn right onto Elba-Almo Road. Elba-Almo Road becomes Elba-Almo Highway for 2.4 miles. Turn left onto Elba-Elmo Highway for 11.5 miles.
