C.J. Strike Reservoir is an outstanding fishery for both warm water and cold water species. It is popular for boaters because launching facilities remain open throughout the year. The shoreline of this high desert reservoir generally abuts steep, rocky cliff faces with a few flat areas containing recreation developments. The reservoir has three sections that offer unique fishing experiences. The main area near the dam provides easy access for both bank and boat angling. BLM operates a campground and launch on the reservoir. Hikers in the area can view wagon ruts along marked remnants of the Oregon Trail.
