Buttermilk Campground is situated on the shore of Island Park Reservoir, among lodgpole pine, and has 54 sites. There is fishing for brown, rainbow, and cutthroat trout in the reservoir. There are several trails in the area including the Continental Divide Trail. Wildlife present includes antelope, deer, elk, moose, fox, coyotes, wolves, and bears.


Facilities: Buttermilk Campground provides restrooms and drinking water.

Best Time To Visit: Buttermilk Campground is open June through September.

Fees: An overnight fee is charged.

Accessibility: This campground is handicap accessible.

Rules: The maximum length of stay is 16 days.

Directions: To reach Buttermilk Campground from St. Anthony, travel northeast on US Highway 20 to Forest Road 30. Travel west on Forest Road 30 to Forest Road 126, on which travel about 4 miles south to reach the campground.
