Box Canyon State Park preserve is the site of the 11th largest spring in North America. It pours 180,000 gallons of water per minute into the Snake River. The canyon is also the home to a rare fish species found only in Idaho, the Shoshone sculpin, as well as three endangered spring snails. The canyon walls are popular for nesting raptors.
