Blackfoot Reservoir covers 18,000 surface acres when full, making it second only to American Falls in size of reservoirs in southeastern Idaho. It has rainbow and cutthroat trout including both wild Yellowstone cutthroat and hatchery reared Bear Lake cutthroat. The hatchery cutthroat is identified by a clipped adipose fin and is available for angler harvest as are the rainbow trout. Wild cutthroat must be released as part of a Yellowstone cutthroat recovery program.

Facilities: Blackfoot Reservoir provides restrooms, boating facilities, and parking.

Reservations: Blackfoot Reservoir accepts reservations for groups over 100 people.

Best Time To Visit: Blackfoot Reservoir is open April-October: 4:30am-5pm, Monday-Saturday, and November-March: 9:30am-3:00pm, Monday-Friday.

Fees: No fees are charged.

Accessibility: Handicap access is available.

Rules: Unknown

Directions: To reach Blackfoot Reservoir from downtown Blackfoot, start out going east on ID-39 toward south 690 west for 3.4 miles. Turn right onto US-26 for 0.3 miles. US-26 becomes I-15 BL south for 1 mile. Turn left onto south Broadway Street and right again onto west Idaho Street for 0.1 miles.
