Bear Creek Transfer Camp

Bear Creek Transfer Camp is a rustic horse camp in an open setting, used primarily for horse transfer. Corrals, mangers, and a barrier free stock loading ramp are available. Campers gather firewood locally. Deer and elk also reside in the area. The hunting season can get quite busy. There are 5 available sites with a maximum spur length of 38 feet.

Reservations: Bear Creek Transfer Camp does not accept reservations.

Best Time To Visit: Bear Creek Transfer Camp is open June through September.

Fees: No fees are charged.

Accessibility: This campground is not handicap accessible.

Rules: The maximum stay is 14 days.

Directions: To reach Bear Creek Transfer Camp from Hailey, start out going southeast on Picaro Street toward Croy Street. Turn right onto Croy Street, then left onto Main Street/ID-75. Continue to follow ID-75 for 14.3 miles. Turn right onto US-20 for 25.8 miles. Turn right onto 1st Street for 0.3 miles. Turn left onto Camas Avenue. From Fairfield, go north on Forest Route 094 approximately 18 miles to Forest Route 227. Go north 6 miles to Forest Route 012. Go northeast approximately 10 miles, taking the left fork at the end of the road, proceeding to the campground.
