Alturas Lake is one of the many alpine lakes in the Sawtooth National Recreation Area. Camp sites with fireplaces, grills, water, toilets and parking are available. There is a trail that follows Alturas Lake Creek up to the lake on a forest service road. Fishing is not allowed do to the depletion of the trout in the lake.
